March 19, 2014

LADERA RANCH, CA – The Ladera Ranch Education Foundation (LREF), created to raise funds for all of the public schools serving Ladera Ranch, including Chaparral, Ladera Ranch, and Oso Grande Elementary Schools; Ladera Ranch Middle School; and Tesoro and San Juan Hills High Schools, is pleased to announce the LREF/LPA Musical program has surpassed $30,000 in donations to our public schools.

The LREF/LPA Musical program provides an opportunity for the children of Ladera Ranch and surrounding communities to participate in musical theater.  Ladera Performing Arts (LPA: http://www.LaderaPerformingArts.com) coordinates and runs the program in conjunction with the Ladera Ranch Education Foundation’s (LREF). Currently, the program is practicing for June 2014 performances of The Sound of Music (details at: http://www.lrefonline.org/events/sound-of-music-al/).

On March 19 at LREF’s Board Meeting, Josh Vecchione of Ladera Performing Arts presented a $5,000 check to LREF in support of LREF’s grant program (http://www.lrefonline.org/grant-program/).

The purpose of LREF’S grant program is to support the public schools that serve the community of Ladera Ranch and to provide funds to enrich the learning environment, motivate students, and enhance instructional effectiveness. Grants are awarded on an annual basis and the success of LREF fund raising events directly impacts the amount of funds that are awarded to schools each year. These grants fund various curriculum areas including reading, math, social studies and music. Since its incorporation in July 2004, LREF has granted over $309,000 through its fund raising efforts.
